Description
Pitra Dosh Nivaran Pooja is a sacred Hindu ritual aimed at appeasing the restless or unhappy souls of ancestors, which are believed to cause obstacles and misfortunes in one's life. This dosh, or fault, is often identified through astrological charts, where malefic planets like Rahu, Ketu, or Saturn might align in a way indicating ancestral displeasure. The pooja typically begins with a Ganesh puja to remove obstacles, followed by the Navagraha puja to pacify the planets. The core of the ritual involves Tarpan, Shradh, and Pind Daan, which are offerings of water, food, and other items to satisfy the souls of the ancestors. The recitation of specific mantras, such as the Pitra Suktam, and the performance of Havan (fire ritual) are integral parts of the ceremony. The ritual is usually performed by experienced priests and may take place at sacred sites like Gaya, Varanasi, or Haridwar, though it can also be conducted at one's home or nearby temple. The objective is to seek forgiveness and blessings from the departed souls, leading to the removal of obstacles, and ushering in prosperity, peace, and familial harmony.
